Katie's Corner

We always offer a little treat to our four legged visitors.

KatieThis little corner of the website is dedicated to our girl Katie, who passed away few days after we opened. We will always remember her and that’s why we want to honour her loyal love. She was partially responsible for Sweet Creamery because we met so many of our neighbours through our walks and times at the dog park.

The New Addition: Benito and Boudine

This is the new addition to our family: Benito and Boudine. They a Boston Terrier brothers and at the time of this photo they are 11 weeks old. We can`t wait to bring them to the park to introduce to all Katie`s friends!

RUFUS

Rufus is a well known pint-sized terror in the dog park (he's a Leo, can't you tell?). Katie was one of Rufus' adversaries until the day that she arrived at the park in her pearl necklace, head held high, and told Rufus rather loudly to step off and show a little r-e-s-p-e-c-t. From that day forward, Rufus gave Katie her dues as was befitting the queen that she was and they co-existed peacefully in the park together. Truth be told, he developed quite a crush on her. He never got over how those pearls brought out her eyes... She is missed by all who knew/loved her.

Papillos [Pappy-lo]

At the park, Papillos and Katie enjoyed staring lazily into each others' eyes, a calming strategy they shared to offset the rambunctious energy of Rufus, Papillos' brother. Although a chihuahua, three-year-old Papillos models himself after the donkey, Eeyore; he secretly loves attention but mopes quietly when he doesn't get it. He loves taking walks down to Sweet Creamery with brother Rufus to visit Tom and Emilio and to get a tasty treat. He is very modest about his good looks, but he has trouble getting over his kissing compulsion.

Duke

Duke is 6 years old, a Virgo. He came to me when he was almost 2... After his origanal owners had to give him up, he went through 2 adoptions and a foster home before coming to me. He's extremely friendly, affectionate and independant... he loves to cuddle and to bury himself under the bedclothes at the end of the day.

Bailey

Bailey is also a friend of Katie from the dog park. Bailey has a crush on Emilio and does a wiggle dance whenever she sees him. Bailey also loves Sweet Creamery, she stops in her tracks whenever she and Mom & Dad are walkiing by the store. It could be for Emilio or the Menagerie "Bad to the Bone" dog treats!

Chico

Chico is the newest edition to the Rodriguez family.

Cian (pron: Key'-en) 2001-2009

Our lovable and doofy German Shepherd boy Cian unfortunately died a few months ago after suffering an unexpected series of severe strokes and seizures one Sunday morning. Always the vibrant and active one (our other 'kid' is a 10-year-old German Shepherd named Athena,) watching him struggle to see, hear and maneuver, we made that difficult decision to let him go. This happened shortly before our dear friends lost their beautiful Katie, so we're pretty sure the two of them are enjoying running in the fields and chasing balls together watching over us. Miss ya Doof.

Bosley

Bosley, a lab/spaniel mix - or, as we like to say, a Spanador - was adopted as a puppy at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley, Minnesota, in April 1999. We later held our commitment ceremony there and he was able to join in the festivities. At ten, Bosley spends most of his days lounging around his home in Douglas, New Brunswick, waiting for Tom, Emilio, and other expat friends to visit. Hint, hint! In this photo he had taken a day trip to the Bay of Fundy.

Bailey

Bailey is almost two years old.  She was rescued from the Toronto Humane Society and we think she is a mix between a Rottweiler and a hound (maybe Beagal?).
